Best Gaming Tvs 2019: Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo

Best Gaming Tvs 2019: Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo
Published by: forahobby on Monday, July 29, 2019

If you’re planning to amp your video gaming experience, it’s worth investing in a bigger and brighter TV with deeper blacks for an immersive experience. However, finding the best gaming television at an affordable price is an uphill task though all gaming consoles are relatively equal.

Best Gaming Tvs 2019: Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo

Here are the top three best gaming TVs to pair with your Xbox One, Nintendo or PS4 headset.

1. Best Overall: LG OLED55E8PUA 65-Inch 4K TV

If you have a huge bank account balance, it’s worth considering treating yourself to this 65-inch OLED TV. This 4K TV is among the most beautiful traditional-looking television sets on the market, offering better value than its predecessor, the LG W8. The TV is clear, with an ultra-skinny stand designed to appear like the picture is floating mid-air to make it easy to enjoy an immersive experience with games like God of War or Forza 7.

LG’s Series 8 comes with an impressive Alpha 9 processor, making it HDR pictures brighter than any other OLED TVs this South Korean firm. Additionally, games appear more dynamic in HDR10 mode provided the Dynamic Tone mapping is switched on. Even better, the E8 doesn’t dim the picture in HDR game mode, unlike the series 7.

2. Best High-End TV: Samsung QE65Q90R

If you’re looking for an android-based TV that can support mobile apps like Betway, the Samsung QE65Q90R is a product that ticks all the right boxes. Its QLED technology gives it a punchier and brighter look that its OLED competitors, though it’s also naturally realistic and well-balanced.

The TV’s Input lag is low, supporting both ALLM and VRR with various extra neat features for the game mode. That includes a black detail enhancer and a motion smoother. It’s essentially the most gaming-friendly television that money can buy, and it’s excellent with all sorts of entertainment options too. However, the price tag can be hefty, so it helps to have a significant amount of cash at hand or consider trying your luck at Betway.

3. Best Under a Budget: TCL 55R617 55-Inch 4K TV

Though TCL isn’t a popular name in the TV market, their latest 55-inch LED screen will appeal to anyone who loves a bargain. Retailing within the $500 range, no television in this price bracket delivers such a brilliant balance in price and performance. It comes with punchy overall brightness, winning contrast performance and decent blacks, easily holding the pace against expensive rivals like Sony, LG and Samsung.

Considering its low price, the TCL 55R617 is super impressive with full-array local dimming instead of inferior edge-lit backlighting. It also comes with convincing blacks, allowing it to be even more outstanding thanks to its wide colour gamut. Additionally, the panel has a supremely speedy input lag measuring 17.9 ms with the game mode enabled. That comes with Dolby Vision and HDR10, which is borderline ridiculous at its price range.

Recap

If you want the best gaming TV, there are all sorts of things to consider, but you can’t overlook the above options. You’ll need a 4K TV that’s HDR enabled, but you can find one with as little as $400 so you don’t need to worry if you’re under a budget. Nonetheless, it’s worth considering either the Sony and LG’s OLED range or Samsung QLED TVs for premium pictures.

Kodi Era: Facts and Stats

Kodi Era: Facts and Stats
Published by: forahobby on Monday, April 08, 2019
Tagged: Media Center, Xbox 360, Xbox One,

Kodi is widely known for being an open source media software that allows users stream all kinds of media stored either locally or on the internet. It is highly customizable and optimized for streaming across multiple operating systems and platforms including TVs. With add-ons that literally give access to all kinds of content including Live TV, it's no wonder millions of users worldwide are cutting the cord and using Kodi across their devices.

Kodi Era: Facts and Stats

Kodi first sprung on the scene over a decade ago and has been a major entertainment fixture since then. However, there have been numerous misconceptions regarding Kodi over the years making it somewhat confusing for newbies to truly understand it. Even some of the most popular Kodi builds in the past have either been blacklisted or gone offline for various reasons.

This article aims to address some of the key facts about Kodi, the stats behind its huge success over the years and also how it has evolved since it first emerged. Happy reading!

History of Kodi: How it all started

In 2002, Xbox Media Player or XBMP was launched and served as a media player for the Xbox gaming console. Kodi's journey, however, started in 2004 when the Xbox Media Center (XBMC) was launched as a replacement for XBMP. XBMC was created by completely rewriting the source code for XBMP. The media player grew very popular, so much that it was subsequently created for other operating systems including Windows and Linux, and subsequently Android and iOS.

Due to the XBMC's inability to claim ownership to the name (Xbox Media Centre) and also to show a clear distinction between the media player and Xbox. It's worth pointing out that The XBMC Foundation, however, claims they never received any warnings to stop using the name from Microsoft Xbox.

Kodi is currently being run by the XBMC Foundation which is legally registered in the US as a non-profit organization. With over 500 official add-ons and around 40 million users worldwide, Kodi nowstands out as one of the most effective media players worldwide.

HBO GO Coming Soon for Xfinity Customers on Xbox 360

HBO GO Coming Soon for Xfinity Customers on Xbox 360
Published by: forahobby on Friday, April 06, 2012
Tagged: Media Center, Xbox 360, Xbox Live,

Xfinity customers will soon be able to access their favorite HBO content in yet another way: through the Xbox 360.

Starting early next week, customers will be able to access HBO GO on Xbox LIVE in addition to the number of ways HBO programming is already available for Xfinity TV customers, including on the iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, Android phones and tablets; through HBOGO.com and XfinityTV.com; on Video-On-Demand and of course, on linear TV!

To access HBO GO on Xbox LIVE, customers can use the same username and password that they use for Xfinity TV on Xbox. With these launches, it's been an exciting couple of weeks as we continue to branch out and deliver more ways for our customers to access their favorite entertainment. We're committed to continually evolving the experience to bring customers more ways to search, find and watch the content they love in more places, on more devices.

Here's a list of some the most helpful things to be mindful of before you get started:
  • First, the Xfinity TV on Xbox service is available to Comcast customers who subscribe to both Xfinity High-Speed Internet and Xfinity TV with On Demand. That means you can't log into the app in your dorm if you don't have your Xfinity Internet connection there. You also need to be an Xbox Live Gold subscriber to use the app.

  • Importantly, you'll need to use the username and password for the primary user on the account. In most cases, this is the adult in the household, so you might have to ask your parents for that info. Chances are though that once they know you can watch Xfinity TV on Xbox, they're probably going to love it, too.

  • And since the Xfinity TV on Xbox 360 app is an extension of your cable subscription, you'll be able to view On Demand content that's available within your subscription. So if you don't subscribe to Showtime for example, you won't be able to access that channel's On Demand content on your Xbox 360.
